We keep seeing polls which suggest that Joe Biden and Donald Trump may be tied in Iowa, which is remarkable considering Trump won the state by nine points in 2016. We’ve also been keeping a close eye on the U.S. Senate race in Iowa, between Republican Senator Joni Ernst and Democratic candidate Theresa Greenfield, which now appears to be trending strongly in Greenfield’s direction.

A new poll from WHO-TV 13 has Theresa Greenfield up by a whopping twelve points over Joni Ernst. This poll is notable in that it’s the first one conducted entirely after Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away and the Republican Senate announced its intention to try to illegitimately replace her. Prior to this, the polls had Greenfield up by just two to three points over Ernst.

We now have to wait for additional polls out of the Iowa Senate race to see if Democratic candidate Theresa Greenfield’s lead really is this large, and make sure this poll isn’t just an outlier. But if it’s even close to being correct, it points to the Democrats taking the Senate majority. You can support Theresa Greenfield’s campaign here.
