As recently as earlier today, I was still giving the major media outlets the benefit of the doubt when it came to the fact that they hadn’t called the election for Joe Biden. Even though it’s been mathematically clear since early Wednesday that Biden would win, perhaps they were just trying to avoid giving Donald Trump a talking point about calling it too hastily.
But enough is enough. Biden’s lead in Nevada just grew to 22,000 votes. There’s no question he’ll win there, yet the media still hasn’t called the state for him. Biden’s growing lead in Pennsylvania, combined with the ratio of the remaining votes, makes clear that Biden will win the state by sizable margin. Yet the media still hasn’t called it.
At this point, what are the TV networks waiting for? Is this about ratings? Are they waiting for people to get home from work and get settled in front of their television sets? This is beyond absurd. If Joe Biden’s opponent were anyone other than Donald Trump, this race would have been called 12 to 24 hours ago.
